Madelyn Dora Lacombe (Thom) June 2, 1935 – March 16, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Madelyn Lacombe on March 16, 2022 at the age of 86 years. She was the daughter of the late Milton Thom and Doris Newman and was predeceased by her loving husband William James Lacombe eight years prior.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Cindy and Jennifer (Steve) as well as her cherished grandchildren Rachelle, Brianna and Sean whom she adored.
Madelyn led a full life balancing work, family and hobbies, including reading,singing with the Sweet Adelines and her church choir, traveling and enjoying her time with her husband and the Shriners volunteering as part of the Karnak Ladies group to help raise money for The Shriners Hospital. Madelyn valued the many friendships she made over her lifetime through work, hobbies, volunteering, good neighbors and her church.
Madelyn was a wonderful caregiver over the years to her mother and to her many relatives which instilled in her daughters the importance of caring for family and others. Her family and church were always a great comfort to her.
The funeral mass will be held at Saint Veronica’s church, 1300 Carson Avenue in Dorval on April 23, 2022 at 11:00am. Her ashes will be buried at a later date.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the palliative care unit at the Lachine Hospital or the SPCA.
