Margaret Mary Korb (nee Jones)                                                                     February 28, 1934-January 17, 2024

Peacefully, on January 17, 2024, in her 90th year, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret passed away in hospital, with family at her bedside.

Margaret grew up in Point-St-Charles. She was the daughter of Louis Alexander Jones and Nora Albina Killfeather. She was predeceased by her brothers, Gordon, George, Francis, Bernard, Ronald, Robert, Edmund and sister, Noreen. She will be dearly missed by her brother-in-law, John Korb (Lorraine)

Beloved wife of Rolland Stanley Byford Korb (Bud) for 70 years. Mother of Gerald (Tina Marfoglia), Brian (Lorraine Billings), Karen, Michael (Evelyn Lopes) Kelly (Steve Koscher). Dear Grammy to Michael, Jonathan (Lara), Natalie (Sam), Lindsay (Ian), Sair, Mackenzie (Kate), Bronwyn (Travis), Addison (Mariah), Kayla, Mitchell (Eléonor), Liam (Emilie), Aidan, Shane, Torrin (Sophie) and Brenna. Cherished Great-Grandmother to Abigail, Sasha, Lukas, Annabelle, Theo, Peyton, Madeline, Owen and Remi.

As homemaker and mother of 5 children, Mom was the pillar of our family who always kept things together, through thick and thin. She was a sports enthusiast who eagerly followed her favorite athletes and teams. Mom cherished her close group of friends and neighbours in the Rawdon community. She was a member of the Rawdon Golf Club, an avid member of the Rawdon Legion, and a beloved member of St. Patrick’s Church. Mom was also a talented baker and cook. For several years, she worked as cook for the children at Hawkins Home Emergency Shelter. She was always happy to prepare favourite dishes for family and friends when they visited, and to bake for church events. Her apple pies will be greatly missed.

Thank you to all the beautiful care givers from the CLSC Chertsey and Rousseau Rawdon. We are so grateful for your kind and caring support of Mom and Dad over the years. You made it possible for them to remain in the home they loved.

Thank you also, to the amazing staff of Joliette Hospital Emergency department, 4th Floor and 6th floor. Your compassion was evident in all the care provided to Mom, Dad and our entire family during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements are as follows. Visitation at White’s and Sons Funeral Home, 3555 Metcalfe, Rawdon, Quebec 10:30 to 12:30 Saturday, February 17, 2024. Funeral Mass at St Patrick’s Church at 1PM.

In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to your charity of choice.

Dearest Korb family, it was so wonderful to see all of you celebrating the passing of your loved parents, grandparents, etc The joy in your faces when you saw each person showed me how much they were loved. I too have a fond memory of your parents. Your dad would always have a greeting when you called saying "your dime start talking!". I would piss my pants. And your mom made the best coconut cream pie ever. May you always smile when you think of them.

Sincere sympathy to my pal Bud and entire Korb/Jones families. Margaret was a great Lady whom I admired for her commitment to the welfare of her family. She also had an ability on the Golf Course where she certainly knew how to count strokes including those of her opponents. God bless you Margaret

1961, Ste Dorothee, Laval, we moved next door to the Korb’s. Lorna and Earl (my parents) and Bud and Marg and our families, grew a close friendship for the next 30 years. I still have vivid memories of those years, wonderful growing up in a close knit community. From Mr. Korb’s whistle and Mrs. Korb’s famous ‘glue’ cake….I still remember her voice. 33 years have passed, Karen and I still very close friends, have kept our parents in touch. My Mom, Lorna, still “Mrs. Feeley” to the Korb kids, sends her deepest sympathies as to I and Bruce to the family. A great lady, the matriarch, will be sadly missed by all. Sending comforting hugs, Sandie

My condolences to all of the family. Mrs. Korb (never could bring myself to call her Margaret) was one of the last of the "elders" from my childhood, meaning the parents of my friends from that era so many years ago. I'm sure she's already been welcomed into the group of card players upstairs, just like old times. That charming house on the corner will always be the Korb house to me. Masonville has lost a pioneer and will never be the same. Cookie

I will forever miss my Grammy very much but cherish the memories I keep, especially her bright smile and genuine laugh. To me, she will always be the definition of unconditional love, because that is what I always felt from her. Love you always, Mackenzie

Margaret was always a warm loving person to me whenever I was lucky enough to be included into the Korb gatherings. I'm pleased that she had so many good innings and nurtured such a close knit clan. I can imagine, as she goes lovingly ahead of so many family and friends that she'll be waiting to greet the followers at the gate, and this time the delicious apple pie she'll be offering will have no calories !! God Speed Marg !! Jeanie Cassidy
