Irons, David Robert Sept 21, 1936 – Oct 23, 2020

Passed away, at the age of 84, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

Loving husband of 61 years to Iris, cherished father to Dave (Karen), Darrell (Viki) and Randy (Sophia), devoted grandfather to his 9 grandchildren Kasandra, David-Paul, Iliana, Stefanie, Scotland, Elias, Athan, Calix and Anesa.

Brother to Patricia (Gil) and Janet (John), and a great friend to many in Rawdon and beyond.

After a 40 year career at CIP, he was blessed to retire at 55 and enjoy a full and active 29 years of retirement, biking through Scotland, Europe and Canada with his wife and close friends, and pursuing his hobbies as bagpiper, woodworker, bridge player, cross country skier and snowshoer in his beloved Rawdon woods.

Thank you to the Chertsey CLSC team for their compassionate care and support in his final weeks, and especially to Dre. Desjardins, and nurses Vicky, Martine and Maude.

He will be cremated and a celebration of his life will take place in Rawdon in 2021.

Donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Rawdon Branch 198, or a charity of your choice.

Dear Iris and family, Deepest sympathies to you. Dave was such a presence and an open hearted man. I was so thankful when he played the bag pipes at my mother's funeral. Our families were connected by our Aunt Winnie and I enjoyed the stories he shared. God Bless you all. Lynn O'CONNOR Flitney and John Flitney
