Johnson, George
April 23, 1935 – May 7, 2026
George passed away peacefully surrounded by his children two weeks after celebrating his 91st birthday. He was predeceased by his loving wife Marlene in 2014 and they are now together dancing in each other’s arms.
George will be greatly missed by his children Mary Ann (Jay), Karl (Francine), Frankie (Denise), Kenneth (Deanna) and Quinn (Sydney). He is also survived by his 12 cherished grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, 2 siblings, many beloved nephews and nieces, and friends.
After spending many weekends and summers in Gratten Lake (Rawdon), once he retired in 2000 George settled here permanently, where he enjoyed playing darts and horse shoes, bowling, swimming in the lake and dancing at the Gratten Lodge. In the past few years you could catch him on his scooter watching corn hole then riding down to the beach to visit everyone.
George was a proud member of The Legion Branch 198 and enjoyed being part of the ECOL group of Friday friends. He was a kind and generous soul with a ready smile and left a lasting impression to everyone who crossed his path.
Forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Royal Canadian Legion to assist Veterans and their families.
The family will receive condolences at White & Sons Funeral Home, 3555 Metcalfe St, Rawdon on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 10:30 am with a short service in the Chapel at 12:00 pm., followed by a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 198, 3604 Albert St, Rawdon at 1:00 pm
