Robert (Bob) Ranger 1937-2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Ranger on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the age of 87 after a long battle with health issues. Born in Montreal, he spent his early years in Rosemount and St. Michel, then raised his family in Laval and finally retired to Rawdon.
Bob will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Thelma, his children Laurie, Blair (Alex), his grandchildren Nicolas, Sierra (Alexis), Brooklyn, Teagan, Sean, nephew Todd (Nicole) and many other family members as well as friends.
Bob was well known and respected for his involvement in the community in many activities such as Scouts, Christ Church, Pipes and Drums and Rawdon Rural Association. With an adventurous spirit, while working at Bell Telephone, he brought his family to James Bay for a transforming experience. During retirement, Bob travelled Europe, Canada and the USA by bike and trailer with his friends and family. Bob was passionate about life and his many sports and hobbies including skiing, woodworking, camping and working on his log cabin at Lake Clair, Rawdon.
Bob was a social creature who loved gatherings with his friends and family and later in life developed an interest in playing Bridge.
The funeral will be held on Monday, December 23rd at 11 a.m. with visitation commencing at 10 a.m. at Christ Church Rawdon 3365 3rd Avenue. Reception to follow at the Anglican Church Hall.

Uncle Bob wasn't my biological uncle but he and Thelma were good friends with my parents and the two families would get together on a regular basis. He was super kind and had a wonderful smile and laugh. He and my dad really got along and they'd take any kid from the two families who was available to go skiing. They really enjoyed each other's company over the years and it was clear my dad considered him a great and decent man. My Uncle Bob passed away on the same calendar day that my dad passed away on four years ago. (Dec. 20, 2020). My condolences to the whole Ranger family but at least our dads are enjoying each others company once again. R.I.P.
